We know that all food is NOT created equal. It gets even crazier than that. One day, an ingredient is bad, the next thing you know, it is good! Think about it. What about the egg? Good or bad? Have you heard about the coconut oil controversy? Remember, the introduction of artificial sweeteners? Whoa, what a story about sugar! Let's go a step further and bring the whole "diet" topic into this conversation. Paleo, Keto, Adkins, Mediterranean, Weight Watchers, Sugar Busters, Zone, High Fat, Low fat, High Protein, No Carb., the list goes on. You can easily run a quick internet search to support, or refute, the "diet of the day". Where do we go from here?
There is plenty to be said about counting your "macros". I like to start here. It's about fueling your body with the appropriate fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. It is a mathematical calculation. Gender, age, height, weight, BMI, and activity level are all taken into consideration when determining what your body requires each and every day. It's individual, it's customized; just like you are! If you truly are committed to hitting your goals, it will require monitoring what you eat. Not willing to do that? Then, you may never be 100% succeessful in your weight loss/weight gain program. It takes a little more effort the first week, or so. Quickly, you become efficient with record keeping, knowing portion sizes, and what is acceptable for your body, your goals. There area free apps to support your efforts, here. This almost gives you NO EXCUSE, when it comes to properly fueling your body. You have control of what you eat. www.myfitnesspal.com and www.fatsecret.com are two of my favorites. Check them out! I'll be here, to help you with your journey.
